Summary
Shod keeps your horses, owner contacts, visits, hoof photos and reports on your device. We do not have an account system and we do not receive your records, photos, notes or contacts.
Data stored on your device
- Horses, barns, notes, owner contact names and contact details you enter.
- Consent records you mark for each owner contact.
- Visits, hoof work notes, tags, next-cycle dates.
- Original hoof photos you take or import, and any annotation layers you draw.
- Reports (PDF) you generate, with a record of whether you cancelled or completed the share sheet.
This data stays in the app's private storage on your device and in any backups you create (iCloud/device backups follow your iOS settings). You can export it (ZIP backup, CSV) and delete it from Settings at any time.
Data you choose to share
When you share a report or backup, iOS sends the file to the app or person you pick in the share sheet. Shod does not see what happens after that and cannot recall a shared file.
Anonymous usage statistics
On by default. The app sends anonymous usage events (for example "visit completed", "report exported"), a device identifier, and diagnostics and crash information to our analytics provider PostHog (United States). This information is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking across apps or for advertising. Events contain no names, contact details, notes, photos, horse names or locations. You can turn this off in Settings at any time. In the EU, the EEA and the UK, the app asks for your consent on first launch and sends no usage statistics unless you agree.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase information from Apple. We never receive your payment details.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, next-cycle reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No reminder content is sent to us.
Camera and photos
Camera and photo library access are used only to take or import hoof photos for a visit. Photos are stored inside the app.
Children
Shod is a professional tool and is not directed to children.
Changes
We will update this page and its effective date if the app's data practices change.
