Rill ("the app") is published by CRESCADE LLC ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes and why. Questions: hello@crescade.com.
Your account
To use Rill you create an account. We use it to keep your library and listening progress, and to know which purchases are yours.
Your library and text-to-speech
When you import a book, document or pasted text, the file or text is uploaded to our server so it can be turned into audio. Our server generates the narrator's voice and keeps your library: the files you imported, the audio made from them, and your listening progress and bookmarks. Only import files you have the right to use.
Who processes your information
- Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and private file storage in the United States (us-east-1). It stores your account, library and listening progress.
- Our text-to-speech server receives the text of what you import and generates the audio.
- RevenueCat manages in-app purchases, which Apple processes. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase receipts, not your name or email address. We never see your payment details.
- PostHog (servers in the USA) receives anonymous usage events, a device identifier, and diagnostics and crash information. Usage statistics are on by default. These events don't include the contents of your files, are not linked to your identity and are not used for tracking across apps or for advertising. You can turn statistics off at any time in the app's Settings. In the EU, the EEA and the UK, the app asks for your consent on first launch and sends no usage statistics unless you agree.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal data, we don't use advertising tracking, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account in the app's settings. This removes your account, imported files, generated audio and listening history from our servers. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account. You can also email hello@crescade.com and ask us to delete your data.
Children
Rill is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
