Whelpie ("the app"; internal project name LitterLedger) is published by CRESCADE. This policy explains what happens to the information you enter in the app.
Your records stay on your device
Litters, puppies, weights, care notes, tasks, buyer contacts, photos, documents and handoff PDFs are stored only on your iPhone or iPad, inside the app's private storage. We do not run a server that receives these records. There is no account and no sign-in.
Records leave your device only when you choose to:
- share a handoff PDF or a CSV export through the system Share sheet, or
- save an encrypted backup file (for example to Files or iCloud Drive). The backup is encrypted with a passphrase that only you know; we cannot open it and cannot recover a lost passphrase.
Anonymous usage statistics
Usage statistics are on by default. The app sends anonymous events such as "weights saved" or "handoff PDF shared" to our analytics provider (PostHog, US). Events contain only the action name, app version, a random installation identifier, simple counts, and diagnostics and crash information. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking across apps or for advertising. They never contain names, notes, weights, photos, buyer contacts or any other record content. You can turn statistics off at any time in the app's Settings; doing so stops sending and resets the identifier. In the EU, the EEA and the UK, the app asks for your consent on first launch and sends no usage statistics unless you agree.
Purchases
If you buy Whelpie Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple. Our subscription provider (RevenueCat) receives an anonymous app user identifier and the purchase receipt so it can confirm your access. We never see your payment details.
Notifications and photos
Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Photos you attach are copied into the app's storage; the app asks for access only through the system photo picker.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Deleting your data
More → Backup & Privacy → "Delete all data on this device" removes all records, photos and documents from the app. Deleting the app also removes them. Backup files you saved elsewhere are under your control and are not affected.
